Marriage Tune-Up Intensive

Spend 1-3 days giving your relationship a thorough checkup in couples therapy.

Couples therapy for the relationships that want to shift from good enough to great.

Are you and your partner are doing fairly well as a couple, but you know things could be a little better? Do you enjoy learning self-improvement tools? Have you thought about couples therapy, but you are just not sure if you have the time or energy to commit to going regularly? Does it stress you out to think of occupying the kids every week for an hour while you get honest and real with each other in the next room?

Learn in days what you might cover in standard couples therapy over several months.

Imagine a day or two or three, set aside just for the two of you. No rushing home to make it to your virtual session. No work texts buzzing on your phone. No kids interrupting your therapy for a snack with pets and washing machines going off in the background, constantly diverting your attention. No needing to leave the session as soon as your emotions fully hit you, digging for tissues to erase evidence of your feelings to the wider world.

Imagine your relationship being the sole focus of your time, energy, and money for these couple of days. Imagine that all the little things you have just accepted as not worth the conflict could improve. Imagine going from good to great. All this is possible when you set aside time, energy, money, curiosity, and vulnerability to work on your relationship with your partner!

What is an intensive? How is this different from regular therapy?

An intensive is a supercharged therapy session that takes place for multiple hours over at least one day, if not multiple days; in comparison, during standard therapy, you meet for one hourlong session every week or so.

My couples therapy intensives last one, two, or three days for the entire day: this is like having your own dedicated therapist for 1-3 days who is solely focused on your relationship. The Marriage Tune-Up Intensive is designed to be comprehensive in addressing your needs, and if you wish to continue standard therapy after your couples intensive, I can either refer you to a great couples therapist or discuss my availability.

Learn tools for the most common couple problems.

This couples therapy intensive is designed to give your relationship a thorough checkup and bring you back to feeling connected and like a winning team, held either in Colorado or virtually.

In your 1-3 day Marriage Tune-Up Intensive, we will examine how you and your partner are doing in the most common problem areas for couples:

  • communication

  • conflict resolution

  • money

  • household management

  • sex

  • emotional connection

We will assess how you are doing in these areas, and I will provide you with the most common and effective exercises and interventions that couples therapists use in their practice. The best part? You can personalize your intensive to the areas in which you and your partner most want to focus. Not only will you leave your intensive with tools and skills you can continue using at home, you and your partner will gain insight and new ways of relating that can shift your relationship in big, positive ways.
